INGREDIENTS:

  • 9 medium lemons, or more as needed
  • 1 cup water
  • 7 cups ice-cold water
  • 1 ¾ cups white sugar
  • Ice as needed

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a small pot, mix sugar and 1 cup of water. As the mixture boils, stir it to dissolve the sugar. Place aside to cool a bit.
  • Meanwhile, soften the lemons by rolling them around on the counter.
  • Squeeze into a liquid measuring cup after cutting in half along the length. Mix the pulp into the juice, but remove all the seeds.
  • Repeat this until you have 1 1/2 cups of fresh juice and pulp. Pour almost 7 cups of cold water into a pitcher.
  • You can add simple syrup to taste after mixing in the lemon juice and pulp. Be sure to add ice.
